Abstract
An electronically conductive poly(piperazineamide) grafted sulfonated nanofiltration (NF) membrane has been prepared, for the first time, by depositing an ultrathin gold coating (150 nm thickness) under the commercially denoted NF200 membrane. This conductive membrane, denoted as PPAS/Au, has been chemically modified by electrodepositing a polymer-based nickel tetrasulfonated phthalocyanine film. A scanning electronical microscopy under low beam (FESEM), contact angle using the sessile drop technic, membrane potential and hydraulic permeability experiments have been carried out to characterize morphology, wettability and solute and/or water mass transfer properties of the novel ionophorous and electronically conductive NF membrane.
